Renewable Energy Development

JG international PNG is advancing large-scale
solar power projects in Papua New Guinea.

JG international PNG is advancing large-scale solar power projects in Papua New Guinea, focusing initially on Morobe Province. PNG benefits from high and stable solar
irradiation throughout the year, enabling the phased development of 30MW → 50MW → 100MW utility-scale solar plants. These projects are designed to reduce reliance on costly diesel generation, improve energy security, and expand electricity access for households and industries.

Our development model covers the full lifecycle: land acquisition and community consultation, environmental and social impact assessments (EIA), detailed engineering and EPC delivery, and long-term operation and maintenance (O&M). We integrate with PNG’s national grid through substations and transmission upgrades, while employing
advanced photovoltaic modules, inverters, and monitoring systems to maximize efficiency and reliability.

Long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with PNG Power Ltd. and potential corporate off-takers will secure predictable revenues, ensuring financial sustainability for investors. The projects are aligned with international standards (IEC, HSE, ESG), supported by robust health, safety, and environmental management systems. Once fully operational, the Lae Solar Project is expected to supply clean electricity to more than 150,000 households, create local employment opportunities, and contribute significantly to PNG’s renewable energy and climate goals.

Sun’s Rays (Resource & Potential)

  • High Solar Irradiation

PNG enjoys consistent solar irradiation throughout the year, particularly in Morobe Province, making it ideal for utility-scale solar development.

  • Phased Expansion

Projects are planned in phases of 30MW → 50MW → 100MW, aligned with grid absorption capacity and demand growth.

  • Economic Impact

Solar generation will reduce reliance on expensive diesel generation, lower carbon emissions, and stabilize electricity prices for PNG households and industries.

  • Revenue Model

Long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with PNG Power Ltd. and potential corporate off-takers secure predictable income and investor confidence.

Infrastructure & Technology

  • Site Development

Comprehensive land studies, community consultations, and land-use agreements ensure smooth project execution.

  • Grid Connection

Integration with existing substations and expansion of transmission lines to reinforce national grid stability.

  • EPC Delivery

Turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services include detailed engineering, high-efficiency modules, advanced inverters, and corrosion-resistant mounting structures.

  • O&M Excellence

Remote monitoring (SCADA systems), predictive maintenance, and performance guarantees maintain uptime and plant reliability.

  • Safety & Standards

Compliance with IEC international standards and adherence to strict HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) protocols.

  • Environmental & Social (E&S) Compliance

Full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), biodiversity protection, and grievance redress mechanisms (GRM) ensure ESG best practices.
